Staying safe and enjoying our local community
Staying safe when children are out and about in the community has never been more important. In this part of our website you will be able to help your child to identify potentially dangerous situations and, more importantly, what things they can do to make sure they stay safe.
Network Rail in partnership with Learn Live are working to help raise awareness to children across the UK by educating them about the dangers of the train tracks through an online video. You can view that video by clicking here.
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service are committed to taking the firework safety message to as many children as possible. As public firework displays will not be going ahead this year, families may be tempted to have fireworks in their gardens so with this is mind we feel the safety message is very important to get across to the pupils.
Local libraries are a fantastic community resource and they can benefit children in so many ways. Please take a few minutes to have a look through the following videos to see just how a visit to your local library could be a very enjoyable and rewarding experience for your child.
The first video explains to children all about the library and the type of books you can borrow. You can watch this video by clicking here.
The second video features Hannah from the library reading The Runaway Pea. You can watch this video by clicking here.
The third video promotes the benefits of sharing books and stories with your child and how you can support them on their reading journey. You can watch this video by clicking here.
