Harvest sales help the garden grow!
Today saw our first Harvest assembly with parents in almost two years! Thank you to all of you who were able to attend and we hope you enjoyed seeing the children as they shared their learning all around food and sustainability. Encouraging children to be involved in the growing of food is of huge importance and this is done so well here at Wymondley by Mrs B through our school garden. Children are involved in the planting of seeds and plants, they are involved in maintaining the garden and then in the harvesting process as the produce that they have tended over the year is turned into cordials, jams, chutneys and more. This is then sold at the harvest assembly and all of the proceeds from sales help us buy compost, seeds and plants to grow vegetables next season and keep our pots full of flowers so that the journey can begin all over again! Thank you to all parents, carers and family members who bought some of our produce at the recent harvest assemblies.
We have also included a photo of the remembrance bed below, which was refreshed over half term.
Thank you all for your continued support.
