Welcome to the Peacocks class webpage!
A huge welcome to all of our Peacock parents! Our main focus at the moment is making sure that all of the children are settling back in to life at Wymondley School. With such a disjointed last six months, we are currently putting a lot of work into ensuring that the children have positive mental health and that they are enjoying their time at school. Our curriculum guides below gives you more information on what the children will be learning about over the each term.
Please also make sure that you are checking your emails for current information and that your child is logged into their Google Classroom, as this will be our main platform for communication this year and will be where you will be able to find more details on remote learning as and when it is needed. Your child will also be able to contact me directly from Google Classroom (or parents can on their child's behalf). Parents are able to contact me through the school email address at firstname.lastname@example.org for either an emailed response, or to arrange an outside socially distanced meeting at a time of mutual convenience. Please also feel free to approach a member of the team for a conversation, from a safe distance, at pick up time or to pass on any information at drop off time.

As the term progresses, the children's learning will be added below for you to enjoy and discuss with your children at home.
Christmas Themed Science Day
We had a great time making our rainbow jars, dissolving candy canes, making hovercrafts move and fizzing Christmas trees.
Remote Learning Spring 2021
We continued to work hard during the lockdown and here are some examples of our fabulous work.
Take One Book: Alice in Wonderland
We had a fantastic week exploring the text 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' written by Lewis Carroll. In Maths, we went on a 'numberland' hunt and had to solve different equations in our groups. We also helped the White Rabbit to tell the time. In English, we wrote descriptions of what Alice saw when she looked through the keyhole and character descriptions. We also made our own jam tarts, learnt how to play chess, created our own tower of cards, played pin the grin on The Cheshire Cat and learnt how to play croquet!
In Science, we have been learning about plants. We created a double page spread to present all our information.
