My Voice Matters!
Celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week February 2024
Pupils explored their views, opinions and rights throughout Children’s MH Week in February 2024. Expressing preferences and thoughts can help children feel good and feel that they belong.
Plus all children have their own special rights around communication.
Children’s rights are written in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child…..
In article 12 it says that all children have the right to
have a view or opinion about something, and that grown-ups should listen and
take their views and opinions seriously.
Mental Health Awareness Week 2023
Mental Health Awareness Week 2022
Wymondley JMI pupils marked Children’s Mental Health Week 2022 by celebrating their own body positivity and uniqueness. Reception children considered their ‘Magic Hands’ and discussed how they use their hands to learn new skills and look after themselves. KS1 reflected on what they like about themselves and how their bodies help them to learn. KS2 wrote poetry to explore and express positive feelings about themselves.
The whole school enjoyed ‘Wellbeing through Exercise’ workshops from Challenge Sport Education. Focusing on ‘What healthy feels like’ and what our wonderful bodies can do. The children remembered positive body affirmations while exercising. We ended the week by joining in with Place to Be’s ‘Dress to Express’ day.
