    Puffins Graduate!

This afternoon was a special afternoon for our little Puffins, as one by one and with their buddies there to support them and  tell them how far they have come this year, they stood up in front of children and parents alike to recieve their special certificate and special graduation hat. It was a lovely way to end what has been a great year for our little Puffins. It was also a very nice way for our Year 6's, who have really enjoyed their year of being a buddy, to bring their time at Wymondley to a close. A lovely memory for a involved!

    Peacocks Trip to Wymondley Woods

The children left the school in very good spirits this morning and following a walk through the lovely countryside and a short break on the way, they arrived at the woods and immediately set about settling in to their new home for the next two days.

After lunch it was time to make bunting and create fireflies ahead of the campfire this evening, as well as making dens in the local woodland area - Lots of fun has been had by all!

Following a tasty evening meal, there were a few minute left for the children to finish off their stick puppets before the evenings entertainment began with a series of puppet shows and concluded with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows over a roaring campfire - a terrific end to a terrific first day!

    Piano Recital

The children were treated to a musical treat for the ears yesterday as our pianists performed for the children and their parents and family members. They all did extremely well and looked very relieved after finishing! I look forward to seeing the progress that I am sure they will have made when they perform again next year. Congratulations on a wonderful performance to all of our pianists!

Robin Hood and the Sherwood Hoodies

Tuesday afternoon and evening saw the culmination of weeks of practice, as Peacocks and Eagles took to the stage to perform their summer production to an afternoon audience and a packed hall in the evening and the result was...

An outstanding show, with stunning performances, magical songs, fantastic solos, terrific leads, cracking comedy moments (with genuine laughter!) and the most amazing jazz hands seen this side of Broadway! It was a fantastic evening and a performance that will live long in the memory - well done to every one of

our fantastic performers and an enormous thank you to Miss Chiddy and the amazing Key Stage 2 staff team, for taking the enormous amount of time needed to ensure that a performance like this could take place. Thank you all.

    Puffins Trip to Shepreth Zoo

Our little Puffins headed out on their trip to Shepreth Zoo this morning. After meeting at Hitchin train station, they were met by some lovely staff from the station who escorted them on the train all the way to Shepreth and saw them safely off and into the zoo. Inside the zoo there was a minibeast workshop to enjoy, with some handling of giant minibeasts for the brave children who put themselves forward. Then after lunch there was time to enjoy more of the animals in the zoo before heading to the station to catch the train back. A good time was had by all and hopefully an experience that will live long in the memory of our little Puffins for quite some time to come. Many thanks to our Governor volunteers and to our wonderful staff for organising and overseeing a fantastic trip!

    Lion King Lyceum Theatre Trip

At 5pm on Thursday, many children from Eagle class set off to London's West End to see a wonderful performance of the Lion King. For many, it was their first taste of theatre and what a show it was! From the hustle and bustle of central London, to the scenery, to the costumes and to one of the most elaborate stages known to man, it truly was a night to remember! An amazing experience that will live long in the memory! Even upon arrival back at school at 11:30pm, everyone was still excitedly talking about what they had just seen.

    Pixel Day at Wymondley

On Wednesday we welcomed many of our parents and family relations in to join us in celebrating the wonder that is Maths! After an introduction to what a pixel actually is from our Maths Coordinator, Mrs Pearson, children and adults alike took on the challenge to create models and artwork based on pixels! The results were varied and involved counting, fractions, symmetry, calculating and many more mathematical concepts!
